The core courses of the Department of Translation and Interpreting curriculum include translation/interpreting theory, history of translation in China and the West, translation skills, professional translation projects, sight translation, consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting, mock conference, negotiation skills, translation/interpreting internship, and a second foreign language (such as French, German, Spanish or Japanese). Specialized knowledge in professional translation/interpreting, such as in business and trade, science and technology, law, politics and economy, audiovisual media, news media, cross-culture and international relations, is introduced to our students when they undergo translator and interpreter training.
