| International exchanges help students of the Department of Translation and Interpreting (DTI) to have a wider view of internationalism. They also help the faculty to benefit from the input from international scholars and experts in translation and interpreting. | ||

Dr. George Ho, Chair of the DTI of Wenzao, visited the DTI of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and exchanged views with Prof. Tung, Yuan-fang, Chairwoman of the DTI, about translator training. |

Dr. Ho visited the Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation (GIIT) of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), exchanged views about translator training with Prof. Chai, Ming-jiong, Dean of the GIIT, and attended a class, where a senior Chinese interpreter from the United Nations was training students of the Institute to do simultaneous interpreting in booths. |

With the Academic Dean of Wenzao College and the Chairwoman of the French Dept., Dr. Ho visited the EU headquarters and the EU Interpreting Centre in Brussels, and the department of translation and interpreting of three universities in Belgium with 12 Wenzao students of the Delegation of Taiwan International Interpreter Training. The delegation observed how EU interpreters work in the real world and how European universities train professional interpreters. |

Dr. Ho was invited to present a paper at the International Conference on Translator Training – Qualifying translators: the role and responsibilities of Higher Education held at Université Rennes 2, Rennes, France. |

Prof. De Laet of Wenzao DTI was invited to make a speech at an international conference in Brussels on literary translation of the Holocaust literary works. |

Dr. Hong, Li-jian, Convenor of Chinese Incountry Program of Monash University visited the DTI of Wenzao and discussed the details of their Chinese language and translation teaching programs. |

Dr. Yi-yan Wang of the Dept. of Chinese Studies of the University of Sydney met Dr. Ho and talked about their Chinese language program, as well as their plan to establish translation program in the coming years. Dr. Ho briefed the T&I program at Wenzao and his experience as the founding Chairman. |
