Since its establishment in August 2005, the staff and students of the Department of Translation and Interpreting have provided various translation and interpreting services for businesses in both the private and the public sectors, as well as volunteer services in Taiwan.

　

The major T&I projects include:

    Interpreting for international conferences held in Wenzao College and

　  Kaohsiung City

     Interpreting and reception services for sports games held in Kaohsiung

    Interpreting and reception services for international exhibitions of

      education

     Interpreting for preparatory conferences for the 2009 World Games to

      be held in Kaohsiung

     Correcting Chinglish errors for the English sign system of Kaohsiung

      International Airport

     English Translation of Nantou Tour Maps for Nantou County

      Government

     Chinese translation of Shentze (more than 500 pages; by graduating

      students)

     Volunteer translation of more than 270 letters written by Burmese

     children to their Taiwanese "adopting" parents organized by GFLP

    (Global Family for Love and Peace ) Taiwan (by Year I and II students)

     Volunteer translation of letters written by children in the world to their

      Taiwanese "adopting" parents organized by World Vision Taiwan (by

      Year III and IV students)
